Fort of Galle
Half an hour far from Ahangama you can visit the old town of Galle and its fortifications all around the old town. This fort was built by the Dutch and is a must to be seen.
National Park of Uda Walawa
You will need between 2h30 and 3h00 to reach this Park where you can find wild life : éléphants, buffalos, monkeys and birds.

White tea plantation
10 mn from Villa Flo is the white tea factory of Handunugoda. You can visit the plantation and the museum.

Dondra Lighthouse
Farther down the South is the Dondra Lighhouse, the most southern point in Sri Lanka. 160 m of height this light house is a white octagonal brick tower and can be seen from far. It is now used as a geat aid to navigation.

Kataragama temple
One of the most sacred places in Sri Lanka, as well as for Budists, Hindus, Muslim or Veddas is in Kataragama.
Located 150 km from Ahangama you’ll need a little more than 3h00 to go there. Every year between July and August is organized a festival during 10 days and 10 nights to celebrate Skanda Kumara God et his Goddess Nalei. Thousands of pilmgrims come for this event.
